This week Crime Stoppers is seeking to assist the Springfield Police Department to identify an individual reference a theft that occurred on October 3rd around 10pm at Hy-Vee Gas Station located at 1025 Outer Park, in Springfield.  A male suspect entered the gas station just before 10pm wearing a red Hy-Vee shirt over the top of a grey hoodie as well as a mask covering his face.  The suspect walked behind the counter and took over $1,000 in cash from a safe.  Photos of the individual can be found on this website, cashfortips.us. Burglary - Motor Vehicles

Crime Stoppers is looking for help from the community in solving a series of burglaries to motor vehicles which occurred in the Sherman area during the early morning hours of May 10th. These vehicle break-ins are similar to other occurrences in and around the Springfield area in which unlocked parked vehicles were burglarized and various items were stolen.

Earlier this week at approximately 11 pm on Sunday May 8th, a group of 6 persons burglarized the Family Dollar store at 921 W Jefferson in Springfield. The group broke a glass entry door to the closed business to gain entry and quickly ransacked the business, stealing assorted items before exiting and leaving the area on foot in a northbound direction. This brazen group of individuals needs to be identified and prosecuted and we need your help.

Robbery on South Durkin Drive

Crime Stoppers is seeking help from the public to help solve an early morning robbery on April 30th to a person at the 200 block of South Durkin Drive in Springfield. The victim reported he was walking his dog, before dawn, when he was confronted by a black male subject 25-30 years of age who stood approximately 6 feet tall and weighed 225 pounds. After the suspect confronted the victim, an altercation occurred between the two and the victim received a non life threatening stab wound to the shoulder. A brown leather wallet was stolen in the robbery.

Crime Stoppers is attempting to help police identify the subjects involved in a burglary to the Farm and Home store on North Dirksen Parkway in Springfield during the early morning hours of April 23rd. The two subjects, whose images were captured on surveillance cameras, smashed display cases and stole several semi-automatic handguns and fled the area in an unknown direction. Look at the images of the thieves on the Crime Stopper website cashfortips.us and help us identify these criminals. If you are able to give any information about the subjects involved in this burglary and theft and it leads to an arrest, Crime Stoppers will pay a cash reward of up to $1000. We want these criminals and the stolen handguns off the street.

The burglaries occurred during daytime and evening hours and entry was most often been made through windows at the rear of the residences. In nearly all of the incidents, victims reported the loss of jewelry and small concealable items. Crime Stoppers Crime of the Week April 14, 2016 Officer Mike Badger, Crime Stoppers Coordinator for Sangamon and Menard counties.       Crime Stoppers wants to alert the public that police are again receiving reports that there are persons claiming to be gutter or driveway repairmen who are actually criminals who are attempting to victimize area seniors. These individuals are not the helpful handymen they present themselves as;they are experienced con men who have stolen from the people they were pretending to help. Most of the suspects have work trucks and often they claim to be from local companies. The fact is- they are not from the area and they have stolen thousands of dollars in property from people. Most of the victims were distracted by the fake handyman while a second person snuck in the home and stole property. If you are approached by these thieves call 9-1-1. If you know their identity or have information about these crooks, call Crime Stoppers at 788-8427, we want them arrested. Armed Robbery to a Person (Juvenile)

Crime Stoppers Crime of the Week April 7, 2016 Officer Mike Badger Crime Stoppers Coordinator for Sangamon and Menard counties.   Crime Stoppers is looking for help in solving an Armed Robbery to a 15 year old juvenile who was riding his bicycle after leaving a convenience store near Pasfield and Allen on the evening of March 30th. There’s surveillance video of the two suspects, one a black male adult and the other a white male adult, who flagged down the juvenile. Once he stopped, black male suspect produced a black semi-automatic pistol and took the juvenile victims belongings. The surveillance photos of the suspects can be seen on the Crime Stopper website cashfortips.us the image of the suspects indicates them to be approximately 20 years of age. The two suspects stole the victims blue bicycle and a backpack which contained clothing items, shoes and an iPhone 6 charger.   If you can identify the suspects in this armed robbery, please anonymously call our tipline 788-8427. Crime Stoppers is looking for help in solving an Armed Robbery and Theft from a person which occurred as a female was returning home from work on N Park Ave at 1130pm on March 28th. As the victim exited her vehicle at her home, she was attacked and battered by two subjects who kicked her and struck her with an object leaving her unconscious. When the victim regained consciousness, she discovered her backpack missing which contained a silver Apple Mac book, a white Apple iPad, a rose gold iPhone 6s, and an Michael Kors gold watch among the items missing. Crime Stoppers Crime of the Week March 24, 2016  Officer Mike Badger Crime Stoppers Coordinator for Sangamon and Menard counties. Crime Stoppers is ​attempting to help police solve a series of robberies which began with a robbery to the Dollar General on North Grand east on February 23rd.  Since then there have been several robberies with similar characteristics to dollar stores and convenience stores throughout the Springfield area and police believe that the same person may be responsible for most, if not all, of these robberies. The suspect is a black male in his late 20’s or 30’s who stands nearly 6 foot tall with a slender build and a thin beard or goatee. Crime Stoppers has posted surveillance photos of the perpetrator on this website Cashfortips.us.  Look at the images closely, they’re pictures of someone police want to hold responsible for his crimes. Crime Stoppers Crime of theWeek March  17, 2016 Officer Mike Badger Crime Stoppers Coordinator for Sangamon and Menard counties.   Crime Stoppers is lookingfor help in solving an Armed Robbery which occurred at Family Video on South MacArthur Blvd shortly after midnight on March 7th.  In the incident, a masked white male subject,who had been hiding behind a vehicle in the parking lot, produced a silver handgun as he confronted an employee who was leaving the store. After taking the cash deposit, the suspect left in a vehicle which had been parked in an alley near the business. The suspect stood approximately 5’9” to 6 foot tall and had a medium build. The suspect vehicle leaving the scene was a grey four door sedan.  Call Crime Stoppers at 788-8427 if you have any information you have about this armed robbery.
