This week Crime Stoppers is seeking to assist the Springfield Police Department to identify a suspicious individual(s) who were attempting to break into houses during the week of October 22nd in the 2300 block of Ramsey, in Springfield.  A male suspect or possibly two different males were seen on different occasions trying to enter a residence. On one occasion there was a male wearing a white sweat shirt and black pants and during another attempt there was a male wearing a red long-sleeved shirt or possibly sweatshirt and shorts.  Photos of the individual(s) can be found on this website, cashfortips.us. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information about a Robbery and Aggravated Battery at Family Dollar, 1425 E. Cook on Friday, March 13th around 10:06am.  A white male suspect, 6 feet tall, 190 pounds dressed in a gray hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans entered the store and gave the cashier a note demanding money.  The suspect punched the cashier then took money from the register before fleeing on foot.  Photos of the suspect can be found on this website, Cashfortips.US.  Anyone with information about this Robbery and Aggravated Battery can call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 788-8427, submit a tip on the website or download the P3 app on your mobile device and submit a tip from there.  If your tip leads to an arrest you will receive a cash reward up to 2500 dollars. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information about an Armed Robbery at 7 Brothers Grocery, 1801 S. 11th on Wednesday, February 26th around 8:30pm.  A black male suspect dressed in all black including a face mask and gloves entered the store, pointed a black handgun at the clerk and demanded money from the register.  The suspect’s shoes had white soles and there was a white Nike logo on his upper left chest. Law Enforcement needs help identifying theft suspects

This week Crime Stoppers is asking the public to help identify two suspects who are believed to be involved in the theft of checks from mail boxes throughout Sangamon and surrounding Counties.  The checks are then reproduced and cashed.  The suspects are a black male and female who were last seen in the Springfield area on January 31st and were driving a dark colored, newer model SUV believed to be a Kia Soul.  Take a look at photos of both suspects and if you can identify them call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 788-8427. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information about an Armed Robbery and Retail Theft which occurred at Meijer, 4200 Conestoga on Tuesday, February 18th at 9:41pm.  In this case a white male suspect displayed a knife to employees while stealing a vacuum cleaner.  The suspect was described as heavy set, wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, white shoes and a red, white and blue Chicago Bears hat.  The suspect got into a black Hyundai Elantra which fled north in the parking lot.  Photos of the suspect can be viewed on this website, Cashfortips.US.  If you have any information about this Robbery and Theft call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 788-8427.  If your tip leads to an arrest you will receive a cash reward up to 2500 dollars. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information about an Aggravated Robbery and Vehicle Theft that occurred on Monday, February 17th at 12:14am at Walgreens, 2625 Stevenson Dr. in Springfield.  The suspect was described as a heavy set black male, approximately 6 feet tall and was wearing all black.  He approached the victim at the Red Box, implied he had a weapon and demanded money and the victim’s car keys before fleeing in the vehicle.  The victim’s car was later recovered but Law Enforcement needs your help to identify the suspect!  If you have any information about this Robbery and Vehicle Theft call Crime Stoppers at 788-8427 or submit a tip on this website, Cashfortips.US.  You will remain completely anonymous and if an arrest is made based on your tip, you will receive a cash reward up to 2500 dollars. 2019 was a great year for Crime Stoppers thanks to our tipsters and the public attending our fundraisers.  968 tips were received, which led to 108 case closures and 57 arrests. Crime Stoppers assisted in the recovery of $209,570 dollars worth of stolen property and drugs. Over $22,000 dollars in rewards were approved and $16,950 dollars were actually claimed. Our next fundraiser is on Saturday, February 1st at the BOS center, our 11th annual trivia night. Please go to Cashfortips.US to register.
