This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department in reference to a Criminal Damage investigation.  Between August 30th and 31st in the overnight hours, an unknown person(s) cut down over 50 trees in a boulevard along the 1700 block of East Lake Shore Dr.  The trees, which were around 6 years old and of various types, sustained damage amounting to over $10,000.00.   Crime Stoppers needs your help in solving this case. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Sangamon County Sheriff’s Office in reference to a burglary and theft.  In the early morning hours of July 8th two male suspects broke into Lucy’s Place, 1822 Stevenson Dr. Once inside the suspects attempted to cut the power and broke into several gaming machines as well as an ATM machine.   The suspects stole over $13,000.00 in cash and caused over $3,000.00 worth of damage.  Photos of the suspects can be found on this website, cashfortips.us. Thank You

This week we would like to highlight how Crime Stoppers in partnership with the community and law enforcement are making a difference. In just the first quarter of this year Crime Stoppers has taken in over 200 tips.  These tips led to over $78,000 in recovered guns, cash, property and drugs being taken off the streets. Crime Stoppers is a nonprofit organization that relies on donations and fundraising in order to pay out rewards for information to help solve crimes.  Currently, Crime Stoppers is having a Queen of Hearts drawing every Sunday night at 7pm at Weebles located at 4136 N Peoria Rd.   Additionally, our annual golf outing is fast approaching at Piper Glen Golf Course.  Deadline to register is June 21st.  Additional information and event details regarding these events is available on this website, cashfortips.us.

Unlawful Credit Card Use

This week Crime Stoppers is seeking to assist the Springfield Police Department to identify an individual reference stolen credit cards. On April 2nd Officers were called to Mid-Town Auto Mart (901 E Cook) in reference to stolen credit cards being used.  The suspect, who appears to be a black male with facial hair, wearing a black Nike jacket was gone when officers arrived. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department reference an attempted motor vehicle theft and criminal damage that occurred in the 900 block of S 4th St during the night time hours between March 29th and 30th. A vehicle window had been broken and the steering column had been removed causing over $1,000 in damage. Video footage shows two different suspects. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department in reference to a Theft.  On March 16th 2024, around 6 pm officers were called to Brandy’s located at 732 North Grand Ave East in reference to a patron who had left her purse behind and when she returned, it was gone.   Video from the business shows a white female with dark colored hair take the purse.  The purse contained cash along with debit and credit cards.  One of the cards was tried at another business in town the following day.  The female suspect was there with a white male who may also be involved.   Images of the two can be found on this website, cashfortips.us. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department in identifying a suspect reference to criminal damage that happened on February 1st, 2024, around 9pm at Dynasty Asian 105 E South Grand.  The suspect appears to be a male wearing a gray jacket was playing the slot machine and punched the screen prior to leaving.  The damage to the machine was approximately $500.00.  Images of the individuals can be found on this website, cashfortips.us. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department in reference to a burglary and an attempted burglary that occurred in the 2000 block of E. Brown Street sometime in late January. Video captured pictures of two suspects from one of the incidents that need identified.  The first suspect appears to be a male wearing a black leather jacket, and the second appears to also be a male wearing a brown Carhartt style jacket.  It is unclear at this time if these cases are related.  Images of the individuals can be found on this website, cashfortips.us. Attempted Vehicle Theft and Criminal Damage

This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department reference an attempted vehicle theft and criminal damage that occurred on January 27th around 8pm at Auto Connect located at 1900 S 6th St. Two suspects broke into multiple vehicles and broke the steering columns in what appeared to be an attempt to steal the vehicles causing $4,000 in damage. Two vehicle windows were also broken in the process causing an additional $1000 in damage. Video of the suspects can be found on this website, cashfortips.us.
