2018 Trivia Night Results

Thanks to everyone for making our 9th annual trivia night a spectacular event. The sponsors, volunteers and especially you the attendees all came together to make it an amazing experience and we're already starting to plan the next one!  While you're looking over your results for this year, don't forget to pencil us in for next year, Feb. 2nd 2019, we'll do it even bigger and hope to see you and all your friends there.

This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Sangamon County Sheriff’s Office reference a felony theft that occurred during the early morning hours on March 5th, 2023 at the Animal Protective League located at 1001 Taintor road. During the theft multiple items were taken including a work platform and six 55 gallon barrels. Video shows a male subject in a single cab truck loading the work platform into the truck however it is unclear if he also stole the barrels. The items stolen were valued at $540. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department reference a shots fired that occurred on February 15th, 2023 around 7:00 p.m. at Esporta Fitness located at 2501 Wabash in Springfield, IL. Multiple shots were fired by the suspect during the incident, however no one was injured and no property was damaged. After the shots were fired, the suspect fled the area on foot. If photos of the suspect become available, they will be posted on this website, cashfortips.us. This week Crime Stoppers wants to remind you to be aware of scams. There has been an increase in multiple different versions of scams including amazon scams, romance scams, and recently a variety of scams where the victim is asked to download an app called Anydesk. Never allow anyone to remotely access your computer unless you are sure they are legitimate technical support. Since January 1st, 2023, the Sangamon County Sheriff’s Office and Springfield Police Department have taken multiple reports resulting in financial scams collectively totaling over $900,000. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department in locating two subjects who are suspected of being involved in several forgeries throughout the area totaling over $7,000. The two subjects are Karree L. Banks (26 year old male) and Marquell C. Scott (25 year old male). Banks and Scott are believed to have been traveling in a rental vehicle. The vehicle is a black Dodge Durango with Georgia registration “TEK3921”. Photos of the suspects and their vehicle can be found on this website, cashfortips.us. Residential Burglary

This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Rochester Police Department reference a residential burglary and felony theft that occurred on Circle Dr. on February 2nd, 2022 between 12:30 p.m. and 3:16 p.m. During the burglary an array of items were stolen including firearms, firearm magazines, ammunition and jewelry. The items were valued at over $1000. The suspect/suspects are believed to have been traveling in a black 2011 Kia Sorento with California registration “6RZM430”. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department reference an aggravated battery and mob action that occurred at the Sacred Heart Griffin Gym located at 1601 W Washington on January 7th, 2023 around 6:10 p.m. The victim was in the parking lot when they were approached by two male subjects with short hair wearing dark clothing and a female with shoulder length hair wearing dark clothing.   All three suspects proceeded to strike the victim with a closed fist multiple times in the head and face area before fleeing the area on foot. This week Crime Stoppers is taking a moment to reflect on our efforts in 2022.  With support from all of you we took in 645 tips, solving 84 cases and assisting Law Enforcement in making 37 arrests.  Over $6,000.00 in cash, property and drugs were recovered, 2 guns were taken off the street and over $18,000 in tip rewards were approved for payout!  None of this would be possible without your help, so from all of us at Crime Stoppers, Thank You!  We would also like to thank all those who sponsored or participated in our events. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department reference a burglary to motor vehicle, criminal damage and theft that occurred on November 7th, 2022 around 4:00 am at Goodwill located at 2531 N Dirksen in Springfield, IL. The suspect arrived in a white SUV and proceeded to break windows on two Goodwill vehicles causing $1200 in damage. The suspect then proceeded to take an assortment of tools from both vehicles worth approximately $6,000 before fleeing the area southbound. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department reference an aggravated battery, robbery and theft that occurred near 11th and South Grand in Springfield, IL on January 7th 2023 around 2:13 a.m. The victim was walking when they were approached by two young males on bicycles who were both wearing hooded sweatshirts. One of the males knocked the victim to the ground and both suspects began to search the victim’s pockets. The suspects took approximately $30 and fled the area southbound. Trivia is finally back! Crime Stoppers annual Trivia Night is being held on Saturday February 4th, 2023 at the BOS Center.  Doors open at 5pm with trivia starting at 7pm.  Come join us for trivia, 50/50 raffle, wall of wine, 10 for 10 raffle and much more! Cash prizes are given to the top three teams including $500 for first place. You can have a team up to 10 people with the cost being $15 per person.
