Betty’s Place Video Gaming Parlor Strong Armed Robbery

A Strong Armed Robbery occurred at Betty’s Place Video Gaming Parlor on Wabash Avenue shortly after noon on November 23rd and Crime Stoppers wants to help police solve this crime. Police have surveillance video images of the incident which began when a black female with a white sweater took a purse which belonged to a patron of the business. Another customer followed the thief outside and attempted to recover the stolen purse but was battered by the perpetrator who was able to escape southbound on foot.

Crime Stoppers is hoping you can identify the thief who is also wanted for Aggravated Battery. The suspect was described as a black female in her mid 20’s who stood approximately 5'3" tall and weighed approximately 200 lbs. You can see the images on the Crime Stopper website Cashfortips.us. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department in identifying a suspect in reference to a burglary and theft that happened on March 9th, 2025, around 4am at Veterans Grocery and Tobacco, 1050 W North Grand in Springfield.  Officers responded to an alarm from the business and when they arrived they observed the rear door of the business had been forced open.  Surveillance video a male suspect wearing a black hoodie, pants and a mask as well as black shoes with white striping on the bottom.  The suspect fled the scene was able to flee the scene prior to police arrival but not before getting away with several hundred dollars in case as well as several cartons of cigarettes.  Images of the individual can be found on this website, cashfortips.us. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department in identifying suspects in reference to a motor vehicle theft that happened on March 3rd, 2025, around 9pm at Pizza Hut, 1861 Sangamon in Springfield.  Surveillance video shows 2 suspects, a white male wearing a blue coat and a black male wearing a black sweat shirt.  The victim parked his vehicle while he briefly ran inside.  When he came out his vehicle was gone.  Images of the individuals can be found on this website, cashfortips.us. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department in identifying suspects in reference to a theft that happened on February 14th, 2025, around 4 am at Noonan’s Hardware, 801 E North Grand in Springfield.  Surveillance video shows 3 suspects, 2 males and a female, wearing all black approach a fenced in area on the northeast side of the store.  Using bolt cutters the suspects proceeded to gain entry.  Once inside, the suspects stole multiple 40lb-propane tanks before leaving North from the business.  Images of the individuals can be found on this website, cashfortips.us. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking to assist the Springfield Police Department to identify an individual reference a theft and unlawful use of credit cards. On February 7th,2025, officers received a report of a wallet being stolen and the credit cards being used at various businesses in Springfield.  The suspect, who appears to be a black female, was wearing a black beanie cap and a large black puffy coat, made several purchases totaling over $7,000.00.  Images of the individual can be found on this website, cashfortips.us. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Sangamon County Sheriff’s Office in investigating three burglaries from the month of January that occurred on Dirksen Parkway.  On January 14th, and again on January 16th,  an unknown male suspect forced entry to the rear door of Linda’s Gaming Parlor, 3755 North Dirksen Parkway. In both instances, the suspect caused damage to the gaming machines and removed cash boxes. On January 28th, Parkway Pub, 315 North Dirksen Parkway, was burglarized also. The suspect forced entry to a rear door of the business, and damaged the gaming machines while stealing approximately $8,000 from the machines.  The burglaries all occurred in the early morning hours. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department in identifying suspects reference to a retail theft and aggravated robbery.  On December 22nd 2024, officers responded to Cloud 9 Vape’s (1933 Sangamon) in reference to a theft.  Around 6pm two black male suspects, around 20 years old, entered the store and approached an employee.  One suspect was distracting the employee while another was trying to steal from the store.  When the employee went to confront him, he implied he had a gun in his waistband.  Images of the individuals can be found on this website, cashfortips.us. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department in identifying suspects reference to multiple thefts and criminal damages.  Over the past couple of weeks, at 3 different businesses in Springfield, an unknown person or person(s) have been breaking into propane cages and stealing propane tanks.  On one occasion surveillance video captured an individual on a red dirt bike with the number 5 or 6 rider sign on the handlebars.  That individual broke the lock to the cage and then shortly after a black SUV pulled up and picked up the tanks that were hidden on the property.  The total dollar amount in these thefts is in the thousands.  Images of the individual and bike can be found on this website, cashfortips.us. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department in identifying a suspect reference to a burglary, theft and criminal damage that happened on December 24th, 2024, and then again on December 25th,2024,  at E.L. Pruitt, 3050 Reilly Drive in Springfield.  On both occasions officers were called to the business for a burglary in progress.  When officers arrived the suspect was gone both times.  Stolen was over $4,000.00 worth of tools and copper piping.  Additionally, several thousand dollars in damage was also done to the property.  Video shows the suspect leaving on a bike with a trailer attached.  Images of the individual can be found on this website, cashfortips.us.
