I'm Officer Butch Slater, Crime Stoppers' Coordinator
for Sangamon and Menard Counties.
This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information about an unsolved homicide that occurred in August of 2004. Officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of E. Monroe to an apartment for a report of a man laying face down and not moving. When officers arrived on scene the Springfield Fire Department had already forced entry to the apartment in an attempt to aid the victim. It was determined that after entry was made the victim had already passed away due to unknown circumstances. It was later determined that the victim Edwin Dillard died due to trauma to the body.
