Officer Mike Badger, Crime Stoppers Coordinator for Sangamon and Menard counties.

Crime Stoppers is seeking help to solve a series of armed robberies, which may be related, which occurred on January 23rd between 7:30 and 10:30 in the evening. In two separate incidents that evening, females walking near Bond and North Grand were robbed by a light skinned black male, possibly Hispanic, who stood 5’9” tall and had what was described as a muscular build. In both instances the cowardly perpetrator forcefully pistol whipped the female victims in the face, one causing injuries which required treatment at a hospital.

A third armed robbery occurred later that evening to a pizza delivery driver at the 600 block of West Capitol, and there were similar characteristics to the armed robberies earlier that evening. Based on the similarities, it is possible that the person responsible for the first two robberies to individuals was also responsible for the pizza delivery driver armed robbery.
If you have any information which might help investigators solve these armed robberies, call the Crime Stoppers tip line at 788-8427 or leave a tip on this website- Cashfortips.us. You can also text a tip, instructions can be found on the front page of the website. The anonymous tip you give us could help lock up a cowardly robber and could earn you a generous reward.
