There has been an increase in multiple different versions of scams including amazon scams, romance scams, and recently a variety of scams where the victim is asked to download an app called Anydesk. Never allow anyone to remotely access your computer unless you are sure they are legitimate technical support. Since January 1st, 2023, the Sangamon County Sheriff’s Office and Springfield Police Department have taken multiple reports resulting in financial scams collectively totaling over $900,000.
