  This week Crime Stoppers is focusing the Crime of the Week on the theft of a large quantity of toilet paper from the St Martin Deporres Center at Martin Luther King and South Grand on June 29th. We don’t like to see the charitable efforts of an organization dedicated to helping people in need hindered by a small group of people who decide to steal from charity. Help Crime Stoppers identify the thieves who took advantage of the hard work of volunteers and the generosity of others for their own small personal gain. Crime Stoppers is looking for information about an armed robbery which took place at Burger King at 510 W Jefferson on June 23rd at 1:30 am. Employees were confronted, after closing, by a black male with a thin build wearing blue jeans, a white t-shirt, and a fitted blue ball cap.  After displaying a silver, semi automatic handgun, the suspect made off with cash, a cell phone, and a tablet. If you have information which might help us identify the suspect in this incident, call Crime Stoppers. This week Crime Stoppers is looking for information about an armed robbery to a person which took place on June 8th at 10:30 in the evening at 13th and Ash. The victim was walking across the street when he was surrounded by a group of juveniles. One of the juveniles produced a handgun -which he pointed directly at the victim- and demanded his property. There were several persons in the group and police want the name of the person who displayed the weapon. The victim was able to escape without being injured. Crime Stoppers wants to pay a reward to the person who anonymously calls with information in this robbery. If you give us the information and it leads to an arrest of the suspect, we’ll pay cash. This week Crime Stoppers is looking for information about the theft of four Central air conditioning units from an apartment complex on Bluebird Court in Springfield. The daylight incident took place between 10 am and 2 pm on May 18th. Crime Stoppers is hoping that someone saw persons loading the new central air units thinking at the time that they were authorized to do so. Anytime you see someone unfamiliar removing air conditioners, call the police, they can check it out.    Crime Stoppers is seeking help from the community to solve an  armed robbery to a person which took place in the area of White  Oaks West a little before 7 AM on April 3rd. The victim was taking a  morning walk when he realized he was being followed by a light  skinned black male wearing camouflage pants and a grey  hooded sweatshirt.  The suspect later intentionally crossed paths  with the victim and produced a handgun demanding the victim’s  wallet and cell phone. It was discovered that the suspect had been  in a stolen Dodge Stratus prior to the robbery.  There are video surveillance photos of the incident, however police are unable to see the suspect clearly enough to identify him. Some of the images can be seen below on our website, call us with any information you may have, or call us on the Crime Stopper tipline at 788-8427.
