This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department reference a retail theft and aggravated battery that occurred on December 22th, 2022 around 6:15 p.m. at Ross Dress For Less located at 3137 S Veterans Pkwy in Springfield, IL. Three females entered the store, and proceeded to steal approximately $500 worth of merchandise. As the females were leaving the store, an employee tried to intervene and was then pepper sprayed by one of the females. The suspects then left in a light color 4 door sedan. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department reference a theft that occurred on December 12th, 2022 around 4:56 p.m. at CVS Pharmacy located at 1879 Sangamon Ave in Springfield, IL. The victim was entering the store when a male subject wearing white shoes, dark pants, dark jacket and a multi-color stocking cap took the victim’s purse and exited the store. The victim’s purse contained an array of items including a cell phone, cash, bus tickets, a bank card and checkbook. Photos of the suspect can be viewed on this website, cashfortips.us. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Fire Department Arson Investigators reference arsons that occurred at Washington Middle School and Matheny-Withrow Elementary in Springfield, IL during the early morning hours of December 8th, 2022. Video footage shows a male and female suspect lighting two fires outside of Washington Middle School including one near the gas main. The damage was estimated at approximately $3,000. Photos of the suspects can be viewed on this website, cashfortips.us. There are no photos available from Matheny-Withrow at this time and it is unclear if the incidents are related. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department reference multiple thefts involving catalytic converters. The Springfield Police Department took a report from the 600 block of N 6th St. for 7 catalytic converters stolen, a report from the 2500 block of Prairie Crossing Dr. for 3 catalytic converters stolen and an additional report from the 2900 block of Rochester Road for 1 catalytic converter stolen. In total, these thefts were worth approximately $28,000. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department reference a home invasion that occurred in the 1800 block of S 7th St in Springfield, IL on November 12th, 2022 around 7:39 p.m. Two male subjects made entry into the residence and held the occupants of the home at gun point. The suspects proceeded to take an array of items including firearms, $3800 in currency, shoes, clothes, electronics, identifying documents and other valuable items before leaving the residence.
