This week, Crime Stoppers is seeking the communities’ assistance in locating Jeremy Register, who was reported missing in Springfield. The Springfield Police Department was notified by his family in October that they had not seen or heard from him since May. Burglary and Criminal Damage

This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department in reference to a burglary and criminal damage report. On November 13th and 17th ,in the early morning hours, police responded to White Oaks Mall, 2501 Wabash , in reference to several thousand dollars’ worth of damage being done to the inside of the building. Once inside, the suspects, who appear to be teenagers, damaged windows, fixtures, water pipes, and discharged fire extinguishers throughout the building. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department in reference to a robbery.  On November 7th around 11pm a male and female suspect entered Burger King, 3200 Northfield Dr in Springfield after the store was closed and employees were closing.  Once inside the two suspects demanded money from the employees and then fled on foot.  Both suspects had their faces covered at the time of the incident, however the female suspect had a very distinctive sweatshirt on.  Photos of the suspects can be found on this website, cashfortips.us. Homicide

This week Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help in assisting the Illinois State Police with a homicide investigation. On September 9th, 2024, the Illinois State Police responded to a call in Normal, Illinois, where a body was discovered. The following day, the victim was identified as 34-year-old Dion Macklin from Springfield.  If you know or may have heard anything about his death, investigators need to know.

The holidays are here, and unfortunately, so is an increase in property crimes. Crime Stoppers wants to help you protect your gifts, your home, and your peace of mind with some quick tips.  If you are ordering gifts online, be sure to track your packages, have it shipped to an alternate address or utilize a package lockbox.  While you are out shopping keep valuables out of sight and secure them in the trunk of your car.  When you arrive home make sure to remove all valuable items from your vehicle and secure them inside your home.  If you are traveling for the holidays, contact your local police department to ask about a vacation check on your home.  While you are away don’t let mail pile up, place a hold on your mail until you return.  Crime Stoppers hopes you have safe and enjoyable holiday season.
