A 24-year-old Springfield resident was found dead on the front porch of a home in the 200 block of North MacArthur Boulevard late Monday night.The victim, who lived at the residence, had been shot and was pronounced dead at the scene, Springfield police said Tuesday morning.Authorities arrived at the home about 11:15 p.m. Monday after a report of gunshots being fired

Springfield police are looking for a man who robbed the Nature’s Select Pet Store Wednesday afternoon.Police described the robber as a dark-skinned black man with a thin build who is 20 to 30 years old and between 6 feet and 6-foot-2. He was wearing a light gray sweatshirt and sweat pants.

Crime Stoppers of Sangamon and Menard Counties is wrapping up 2014 with 88 arrests and the recovery of more than $45,600 in stolen property and narcotics. Badger took over as coordinator of Crime Stoppers in October.
