This week Crime Stoppers is seeking to assist the Springfield Police Department to identify an individual reference a theft. On September 30th police were called to Miracle Temple Church, 1201 Pope St, in reference to a theft of landscaping.  Security video showed around 420 am on September 29th a black female wearing a blue jacket and black pants rode up to the church on a white bicycle.  The black female proceeded to pull out landscape lighting and wiring before riding off. The total amount of stolen items is worth several hundred dollars.  Images of the individual can be found on this website, cashfortips.us. Felony Theft

This week Crime Stoppers is looking for information about the theft of four Central air conditioning units from an apartment complex on Bluebird Court in Springfield. The daylight incident took place between 10 am and 2 pm on May 18th. Crime Stoppers is hoping that someone saw persons loading the new central air units thinking at the time that they were authorized to do so. Anytime you see someone unfamiliar removing air conditioners, call the police, they can check it out. If you have information which might help us identify the persons or the vehicle involved in this incident, call Crime Stoppers. Armed Robbery to a Person

   Crime Stoppers is seeking help from the community to solve an  armed robbery to a person which took place in the area of White  Oaks West a little before 7 AM on April 3rd. The victim was taking a  morning walk when he realized he was being followed by a light  skinned black male wearing camouflage pants and a grey  hooded sweatshirt.  The suspect later intentionally crossed paths  with the victim and produced a handgun demanding the victim’s  wallet and cell phone. It was discovered that the suspect had been  in a stolen Dodge Stratus prior to the robbery.  There are video surveillance photos of the incident, however police are unable to see the suspect clearly enough to identify him. Some of the images can be seen below on our website, call us with any information you may have, or call us on the Crime Stopper tipline at 788-8427. Criminal Damage to Property, Theft

This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information about a series of criminal damage and theft incidents which took place overnight during the Celtic Festival in Chatham on the weekend of May 15th and May 16th. In the incident, persons damaged tents and trailers at the festival site and stole thousands of dollars worth of merchandise and property from the venues which were entered. As evidence at the scene is processed, it appears that this felony incident may have been perpetrated by more than one person and Crime Stoppers wants to pay a cash reward to a tipster who anonymously gives us the information which leads to arrests of the perpetrators.  

Armed Robbery, Kidnapping

This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information about an armed robbery to a person that took place in the parking lot of Washington Middle School on the evening of May 13th. The victim – a custodian at the school – was going to his car after work at 10:15 pm when he was approached by 4 black male subjects, three of whom were armed with handguns. After being robbed, the victim was detained by the suspects for a period of time. The suspects later took the victims vehicle however, it was later recovered near 25th and Cook Street.    If you have information about this armed robbery, which evolved into a felony kidnapping, call Crime Stoppers. Homicide

This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information about a shooting which took place in the parking lot of Capitol City Lodge at Martin Luther King Drive and Brown Street during the late Saturday, early Sunday morning hours of May 10th. In the incident, police responded to reports that several gunshots were heard and discovered a 44 year old victim on the ground with injuries which proved to be fatal. There were several moving vehicles in the vicinity of the shooting and it is believed that persons in these vehicles have information which will be helpful in the investigation of this homicide. ID suspects on Springfield Police Dept website

As you’ve heard in past criminal incidents, there are often times when Crime Stoppers has produced surveillance photos of suspects. We now want to tell you about the Springfield Police Departments website, a separate website which has numerous photo’s of suspects from various incidents on the “Can You Identify” tab off the main page of the site. The Springfield Police Departments website is spd.springfield.il.us. If you recognize any of the persons in the photos, contact Crime Stoppers. You can be paid a cash reward if any tips you leave lead to the arrest of the suspects pictured. Remember the Springfield Police Department website is a separate website, not the Crime Stopper website. There is, however, a link from the Crime Stopper website to the SPD website and also from the SPD website to the Crime Stopper website. 

Church Burglary

This week Crime Stoppers is seeking your information about a burglary which took place at St. Paul AME Church at 1130 S 16th Street during the overnight hours of April 7th. In the incident, unknown persons broke the back door to gain entry to the church’s resource center and also a garage on church property. Suspects stole appliances, including air conditioners, and removed copper and aluminum from coolers which they did not take. The brand name of the stolen air conditioner was Liebert. Police need help to identify the persons responsible for this church burglary.    If you have any information, call Crime Stoppers. Home Invasion

This week Crime Stoppers is seeking tips about a home invasion that occurred on March 8th at approximately 11 PM.  In this incident two unknown black males kicked in the back door of a residence in the 1700 block of East Ash.  The pair then encountered the 89 year old resident in the dining room, pushed her down, and searched her while demanding “Where’s the money?”  Both were wearing denim jeans, dark hoodies, with stocking caps, and both were reported to be in their 30s.  If you have any tips about this home invasion, please anonymously call Crime Stoppers at 788-8427.

Shooting

This week Crime Stoppers is seeking tips about a shooting that occurred in the 1200 block of E. Edwards.  The incident occurred on March 7th, at approximately 2:46 AM.  In the incident, the victim was shot three times from behind as he walked to his vehicle.  Over 30 shots were fired by the suspect.  If you have any tips about this shooting, please anonymously call Crime Stoppers at 788-8427.

Sangamon County Fugitives

This week Crime Stoppers is seeking tips about a fugitive wanted in Sangamon County, and two unknown suspects seen with her.  Veronica Robinson is a 64 year old black female, is 5’2” and approximately 160lbs, and is wanted for multiple felony retail thefts in Sangamon County.  With Robinson was an unknown black male and black female, both in their late 50s to early 60s.  The group has been identified together in series of felony thefts from stores in Springfield.  If you have any tips about these fugitives, please anonymously call Crime Stoppers at 788-8427.
