This week Crime Stoppers is seeking to assist the Springfield Police Department to identify a suspicious individual(s) who were attempting to break into houses during the week of October 22nd in the 2300 block of Ramsey, in Springfield.  A male suspect or possibly two different males were seen on different occasions trying to enter a residence. On one occasion there was a male wearing a white sweat shirt and black pants and during another attempt there was a male wearing a red long-sleeved shirt or possibly sweatshirt and shorts.  Photos of the individual(s) can be found on this website, cashfortips.us. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department reference an attempted armed robbery that occurred on December 10th around 7:00 p.m. at Dollar General located at 1057 E Ash. The suspect, who appeared to be a male, entered the store and approached an employee behind the register brandishing a firearm. The suspect then grabbed the employee by their arm and threatened them. Attempted Vehicle Theft and Criminal Damage

This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department reference an attempted motor vehicle theft and criminal damage that occurred in the 1000 block of S 2nd St during the night time hours between January 3rd and 4th. A vehicle window had been broken out causing $500 in damage and the steering column had been removed causing an additional $1,000 in damage. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department reference a theft that occurred at the La Quinta Inn located at 1121 Lejune on December 18th around 6:30p.m. The victim had lost over $10,000 out of their pocket they were going to give their employees as a Christmas bonus. Video footage shows the suspect, who appears to be a female with dark hair, bend down and pick up what appears to be the sum of cash. It is unknown which direction the suspect went after. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department reference an attempted motor vehicle theft and criminal damage that occurred at State Farm located at 1200 W Jefferson on November 9th around 2:30 p.m. The victim saw two young males inside their vehicle attempting to steal it. Upon confronting them, they fled the area. While examining the vehicle, the lower half of the steering column had been removed causing approximately $500 in damage. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department reference a hit and run that occurred on November 15th just after 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of 11th and North Grand. The suspect vehicle, which appeared to be a dark color Mazda Sedan, turned in front of a motorcycle causing the driver to be ejected from the bike and suffer multiple non-life-threatening injuries including broken bones. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department reference a fire that occurred at the NAACP located at 811 S 11th street. Between the hours of 1230 and 1245 am on November 28th, a suspect, who appeared to be a male wearing a jacket and khaki pants, can be seen on the property. The suspect was seen going behind the building and starting a fire inside the dumpster. The suspect then stared at the fire before leaving the area northbound on foot. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department reference two armed robberies that occurred on October 19th between 9 and 11:10p.m. resulting in the loss of over $1400. One robbery occurred at Walgreens at 2305 W Monroe while the other occurred at Famous Liquors at 1540 W Wabash. Famous liquors was robbed by two male suspects while Walgreens was robbed by one male suspect. In both incidents, employees were threatened with a firearm and forced to concede store money.
