This week, Crime Stoppers is seeking the communities’ assistance in locating Jeremy Register, who was reported missing in Springfield. The Springfield Police Department was notified by his family in October that they had not seen or heard from him since May. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information about a Commercial Burglary that took place on Tuesday, April 28th at 9:43pm at J. Gooch Shooting Sports, located at 140 W. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information about a Commercial Burglary that took place on Monday, April 27th at 3:19am at the Rocket stop, located at 2800 S. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information about a shooting incident that took place on April 12th at 12:13am at 1405 W. This week Crime Stoppers wants to inform you about several scams that are taking place in relation to the Coronavirus.  Scammers are sending out fake stimulus checks and asking for small fee’s before the checks can be cashed.  In some cases the scammer will ask for bank account information so the check can be deposited.  Scammers are also claiming to have a vaccine for the virus but there is currently no known vaccine so any such claim is a scam. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information about an Armed Robbery at 7 Brothers Grocery, 1801 S. 11th on Wednesday, February 26th around 8:30pm.  A black male suspect dressed in all black including a face mask and gloves entered the store, pointed a black handgun at the clerk and demanded money from the register.  The suspect’s shoes had white soles and there was a white Nike logo on his upper left chest. Law Enforcement needs help identifying theft suspects

This week Crime Stoppers is asking the public to help identify two suspects who are believed to be involved in the theft of checks from mail boxes throughout Sangamon and surrounding Counties.  The checks are then reproduced and cashed.  The suspects are a black male and female who were last seen in the Springfield area on January 31st and were driving a dark colored, newer model SUV believed to be a Kia Soul.  Take a look at photos of both suspects and if you can identify them call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 788-8427.
