This week Crime Stoppers is seeking to assist the Springfield Police Department to identify a suspicious individual(s) who were attempting to break into houses during the week of October 22nd in the 2300 block of Ramsey, in Springfield.  A male suspect or possibly two different males were seen on different occasions trying to enter a residence. On one occasion there was a male wearing a white sweat shirt and black pants and during another attempt there was a male wearing a red long-sleeved shirt or possibly sweatshirt and shorts.  Photos of the individual(s) can be found on this website, cashfortips.us. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department in identifying a suspect reference to a theft.  On May 7th, 2024, around 8:30 pm the victim arrived at Lucky Lady Laundry, 1056 E Stanford, and parked near the front door of the business.  The victim began making several trips taking laundry into the business.   While inside, the suspect approaches the victim’s vehicle, opens a door and takes a Michael Kors purse from inside the vehicle.  Inside the purse was a Michael Kors wallet, bank cards and an I-Phone all totaling more than $1300.00.   The suspect was described as a black male wearing a hooded black sweat shirt and black jogger style sweat pants.  Images of the suspect can be found on this website, cashfortips.us. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Sangamon County Sheriff’s Office in reference to a shooting that occurred at The Cove, 1616 N Dirksen Parkway.  On Monday May 6th around 1:20 am a black four door vehicle pulled into the east lot of the bar.  Two white males exited the vehicle and were denied entry to the bar.  The white males got back into the vehicle and left.  Once on Keys Ave. at least one occupant exits the vehicle and fires multiple rounds in the direction of the bar striking a bouncer, a parked vehicle and the building.  Images of the suspects and the vehicle can be found on this website, cashfortips.us. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department in reference to a retail theft.  On March 30th, 2024, officers were dispatched to Discount Tobacco, 1169 N 2nd St, in reference to a retail theft. The suspect, who was a black male wearing black sweatpants and an olive colored hooded shirt entered the store and asked an employee to see an item for sale.  When the employee turned around, he jumped over the counter grabbing cartons of cigarettes and fled the area. This week Crime Stoppers would like to make you aware the Springfield Police Department has noticed an increase in Facebook Market Place scams.  To avoid being a victim, research the seller’s profile and be wary of fake accounts with few pictures, friends and posts.  Look to see if they have recently joined Facebook or if they have been on the platform for a while.  While conducting online transactions, consider using a designated E-Commerce Exchange Zone like the lobby of the Springfield Police Department, for safety.

This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Illinois State Police in reference to homicide investigation.  On March 13th, 2024, around 1200 pm police were called to the southbound on ramp to I-55 at Stevenson Drive in reference to a body being found.  Investigators were able to identify the body as Teresa Coleman from Springfield who had been reported missing on March 4th.  Her death is being ruled as a homicide.  Anyone with information regarding Teresa’s death that leads to an arrest will receive a cash reward up to $5000.  An image of her can be found on this website, cashfortips.us. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department in reference to a follow up to a Burglary to Vehicle.  On January 13th, 2024, officers were investigating a vehicle break in, in the 3100 block of Twin Lakes Drive.   Taken from inside the vehicle were debit and credit cards.  Since the break-in, the cards have been used at different businesses by what appears to be a white female that was wearing a gray Nike hat each time.  She was seen leaving one business in what looks like an older model silver truck.   Images of her and the vehicle can be found on this website, cashfortips.us. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department in reference to a Criminal Damage and Battery Case.  On January 30th, 2024, around 2:40 pm a female entered Dollar General at 930 W Jefferson and was denied a purchase because she didn’t have an ID.   The female suspect started a verbal disturbance with employees and refused to leave.  After several minutes of arguing the female picked up an employee’s phone and left with it.  One employee tried to stop her but she pushed past her causing an injury to the employee.  Once outside the suspect threw the employees phone down, breaking it, causing $1,100.00 worth of damage.  Images of the individual can be found on this website, cashfortips.us. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking to assist the Springfield Police Department to identify individual(s) reference a burglary. On September 25th around 3 am officers responded to an alarm at Farm & Home, 2408 N Dirksen Parkway.  Officers observed someone had forced entry to a section of the building. It was discovered that two male subjects broke into the building and stole two zero turn lawn mowers.  One was a Cub Cadet ZT150 and the other was a Kawasaki 160 Pro both valued over $14,000.  Images of the individual can be found on this website, cashfortips.us. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Sangamon County Sheriff’s Office in reference to a burglary and theft.  In the early morning hours of July 8th two male suspects broke into Lucy’s Place, 1822 Stevenson Dr. Once inside the suspects attempted to cut the power and broke into several gaming machines as well as an ATM machine.   The suspects stole over $13,000.00 in cash and caused over $3,000.00 worth of damage.  Photos of the suspects can be found on this website, cashfortips.us.
